Hand2Hand, a West Michigan based non-profit organization that delivers food to hungry children, began working with M Studio to create a more proactive marcom presence to increase their reach into the community, schools, and churches so more and more children will receive the nutrition they need.
The relationship with Hand2Hand (H2H) began by doing an audit of the marketing and communication (marcom) efforts. From that, M Studio and H2H discovered that there was opportunity to grow in various areas. First, the need to create an annual marcom calendar that would help H2H be proactive in reaching their target audiences (schools, churches, and businesses). Second, update and master their website to better serve user trends (things like: just-in-time communication, marketing landing pages, resources, social media integration, and SEO). Third, build their storytelling through video creation. Fourth, establish and lead a fluid marcom team comprised of H2H staff, volunteers, and sub-contractors to create high impact print media, apparel, social media, videos, advertising campaigns, and more.
In 2008, Cheri Honderd recognized a community injustice: elementary school children were at risk of going hungry over the weekends. Knowing this, she established Hand2Hand within a local school and provided food for 19 students. Today, the program is now in 192 schools and reaches over 7500 kids!
Hand2Hand is committed to telling stories through video. We help them accomplish that by creating or producing their featured videos:
Develop and maintain the Hand2Hand's website as it plays a vital roll in the communicating and marketing efforts.
Design various print pieces that are used to promote Hand2Hands work. Here is one example:
Regularly capturing Hand2Hand activities through still photography that is then used for print, social, and website.
Hand2Hand has enjoyed a tremendous amount of growth. The number of schools and churches feeding kids continues to grow, more businesses are partnering with them, and financial giving is up!
mStudio counts it a great privilege to have partnered with H2H with marcom efforts for a couple of years and was deeply honored to play a part in eliminating child weekend hunger in West Michigan.
